With over 20 years spent living and working aboard superyachts, and 15 years of combined experience in adventure van design, our team knows what it takes to build systems that perform under pressure and still feel like home. We’ve taken lessons from the sea—efficiency, durability, and smart use of space—and applied them to the vans we build today. Every detail is considered. Every material is tested. Hi, I'm Aaron Hersom, founder and owner of Van Damme Conversions.
My story begins in New Zealand, where a deep-rooted love for adventure and exploration took shape. Over 15 years, my passion led me to sail across oceans, discovering more than 65 countries and immersing myself in diverse cultures and breathtaking landscapes. The lessons I learned from the sea, adaptability, resilience, and the joy of exploring the unknown—continue to inspire my work today.Eventually, my journeys brought me to America, where I shifted my focus from navigating the seas to exploring uncharted roads. Driven by my desire to help others experience the thrill of adventure, I founded Van Damme Conversions. Here, my team and I craft custom, luxury adventure vans designed for those seeking freedom, comfort, and endless exploration. We take immense pride in building a comfortable touring machine where after a long day of adventuring, you can come back to your tiny home, prepare a warm meal, enjoy a sunset, and have a nice hot shower before cozying into bed.

No, the base price for our custom builds covers only the conversion. The van itself is a separate cost. However, we can help source the ideal van for your project through our trusted network of dealerships and suppliers.
